I do not know. I was not around back then. I do remember when I was a kid in the 70s that color film was a lot more expensive than black and white.

By mid 60s, color became standard at cinema in the USA. Unless the movie is extremely cheap by cinema standards, it would be shot in color.

Even in Turkey, which is a 3rd world country, all movies had turned to color by 1974.

A lot of people dont even know there were color movies before 1960s.
