Lol Elisha was one of my favorite characters as a kid! I read most of those stories on my own and they were pretty interesting too.

The one I didn't like was the one where a guy gets stabbed and the sword dissappears in his gut. That is less appropriate for kids because that's EXPLICIT.

Graphic things can happen in kids books, as long as they just happen, they're not described in detail. There's a big difference between "Rumplestiltskin stomped so hard he split in half!" And "[omitted for guidelines]" (describing it in detail).

That being said, I certainly wouldn't classify the book you're talking about as a children's book. But children do read it, and yes, parents should pay attention to which sections they have access to when reading on their own.

:) I know where it comes from. And no I wouldn't want the book banned. Life is a brutal reality... the bears were hungry, the kids were mean,... maybe kids will learn to be careful in the wild and also not to be mean.

I prefer My kids read a book with nature in it than, all these sexual things they want to be showing kids these days.. even better if my kid doesn't watch TV... I don't want a tv in my home, kid can play otherwise , lots of gadgets... maybe with friends or siblings

No, no books should ever be “banned” but I don’t believe that material is appropriate for younger children, and should not be available to them in the school library of any elementary or middle school, but that’s a million miles from actually banning a book.

Is there really a book like that? Well that would sure be a strange children's book... but then again many classic fairytales like the original little mermaid also had these type of graphic plots and endings. But yeah, that's pretty outdated lol

One book on bears that definitely needs banned is goldilocks and the 3 bears. It encourages children to break into bears houses in search of porridge. One can only imagine how many lives have been lost already.

I wouldn't let my kids read it. No one should be judged for anything. I wouldn't want to show my kids that it's okay to judge someone for their appearance or their personality
