I'm not an expert on the subject. I don't think anyone has ever wanted a full, outright BAN on any books throughout history. (maybe a few specific, rare exceptions)

Any "ban" has usually ALWAYS been age appropriate type of theme. Not having certain books in a school library or exposed to kids.

Not having certain "themed" books in an elementary or high school library. Keeping things out that are adult themed and not kid friendly or age appropriate.

Certain politically minded individuals in society have always been pushing the early introduction of overt sexual themes and political/social themes to children. I hear cases in the news of some parents saying their 4 and 5 year old kids are trans.

I think you are on track but I think the political aspect of the movement to push gender dysphoria on America's children is less random and much more organized. I think it is an effort to destabilize America by creating children who do not form the basic foundational building block of a strong and successful nation, a nuclear family with a mother a father and children. I think it also an attempt to undermine America's military readiness and ability to defend itself by creating dysphoric men of military age who are unable to meet the standards needed to defend the country and a shortage of military age men resulting from the destruction of the family unit. That was a Bible passage so by the definition of pornography "you know it when you see it." Clearly defined the Bible as pornography. This pissed off a lot of Florida people with book banning.

So maybe just maybe "you know it when you see it" isn't a good enough definition for censorship and a blanket ban on sexuallity is a bad thing.

Realistically the vocabulary needed to understand the prologue of a book is good enough of a barrier to understand the saucer literature later. It's a build in age restriction by its own nature of age capabilities. So why freak out about it?

And not only THAT, but objecting to a book as Not Age Appropriate is NOT banning the book, nor is it condemning the book. It is simply the understanding that some issues are not small child friendly, and so the particular book should be deferred until the child is older.
