Choose one: cats or dogs?

I like dogs a lot but I don't want one for a pet. I love cats.

Dogs are very loyal and thrive on love, affection and appreciation. They are like children. They need a lot of attention. They need to be socialized. They need jobs.

Cats are:
Independent
Affectionate but not needy
Warm, soft and furry and they purr
Clean and not stinky or slobbery
Cute, funny and super entertaining
Good at hunting mice, voles and gophers in gardens

They have not been bred to certain specialties over the centuries. Because of that, they have fewer congenital health issues.
They are quite independent and essentially domesticate themselves based on their own needs, comforts and desires. They do what they want.
They don't bark.
You don't have to take them for walks or pick up their poop. All you have to do is give them food and water and clean their litter boxes.

cats are ok as house pets, but they kill wildlife generally just for sport if allowed outdoors , which then makes them an invasive domestic predator. That's no different than you hunting and killing game animals just for a wall trophy. to me those are crimes

We have one of each.
both are great but if I had to choose 1 I’d go with cat. Less maintenance, takes up less space, and has had the better personality lately

Since years I have permanent guest cats :)
September last year I adopted two (then) baby dogs.
Cats (usually) don't go swimming... so I feel a little closer to my doggo's.

IO have had both for pets but cats are more suitable to my current lifestyle.

I love both but I think it's time i choose dogs. I already have 2 cats. But of course I'm not leaving them

The only time I wouldn’t pick cat over dog is for mastiffs, akitas , cane corsos and st Bernard’s
they are so fluffy as puppies
