My cat washes his feet off in his water after using the litterbox, is there anything I could do to stop him from doing that?

Reading your replies, the best you can do is keep the water dishes clean. Hope he grows out of it.

I would try switching to unscented litter. Different brands of unscented litters. Maybe even switch the mat. Little things might stop him.

Yeah it's definitely a first of any cat I've had, I could try unscented litter, I am using scented because it smells nice, I'll try a different mat too thanks

That might be it. It could be too strong a smell for him. Tidy cat unscented I found is best at concealing odors and still no added fragrance.

Maybe put a pan of water next to his litter box so he will use that instead. I definitely would not discourage him from cleaning.
