Is it an emergency if my cat has peed outside the litter box a couple times this past week but it otherwise acting normal?

Normal as far as I know. Cats stand in the middle of the tray and sometimes their back end hangs over the edge. We use a dog tray and have not had a problem since.

We also use a folded newspaper insted of litter. Much cheaper!

When i say outside the litter box, i mean like in a separate spot like across the whole house.

Hmmm. That's outside my knoledge. It the tray always in the same place? Is it spotless as cats do not like residul smells?

How long have you had your cat? Has she always been this way? Are you good about cleaning her litter box?

I've had her for 3 years. she's never done this. Sometimes I get to clean the litter box for a day, but I usually clean it once per day.

You should take her to the vet. It could be stress, discomfort, anything, but they’ll know what to do.

On case you wanted to know, i took her to the vet, and she had a uti. They put her on antibiotics and she's all good now.

Cats are picky about what they like as litter. Try a different litter, your cat might be trying to tell you she don't like it.

I use pine pellets and they love that stuff

Cats mostly do their own things. Some pee where they are suppoesd to and some don't feel like it.
