Are men actually more forgiving when it comes to looks considering women think 80% of men are unattractive?

First of all, a lot of my male friends who are rather unattractive have grossly unrealistic expectations of the kind of women they can date. They remain perpetually alone and frustrated. Dr House said it best. "5s date 5s and 8s date 8s. The only way a 5 dates and 8 is when the 5 is rich or has a huge schlong"

For me personally, I don't put a lot of emphasis on looks. I will date a woman if she is plain (not unattractive). Women are more than their looks. FYI, I am not rich and don't have a huge schlong. My body is a 5. My face is an 8.

In my experience the average woman puts more effort into her appearance. Of course there are men who do as well. But often when my friends go out to a bar, the guys will throw on a baseball cap and an old tshirt from some brewery. And the girls have a nice top or a dress, and do their hair and makeup. Not to mention things like skincare routines. I think a bit of effort goes a long way towards being attractive. Clothes that fit well and are classy will make a man stand out

No is forcing them to do it though. And they don't need to make an effort. Women will get men just for existing

Right, they do it because they want to. I'm just saying I think women are a bit more attractive than men on average because they are more likely to put the work in. I think women would be attracted to more men that dressed better and presented themselves better

I only find a few people attractive, so for me it’s like.000001% of the 8 billion people who exist. I’m not attracted to really young women or really old women, so that already drops my field by like 60%. Like I’ve never met a person who found even half of the people attractive

A female is evolutionarily programmed to find one mate that is fit enough to protect her and has enough resources to raise a family.
A male is evolutionarily programmed to spread as much DNA as possible.

I think that is why females are more picky.

LOL. No, if you look at hundreds of random couples over the age of thirty, the woman looks better than the man about 70% of the time. This doesn't change until they reach about 65 or 70, in my opinion.
