If you are in DEEP SLEEP you are NOT able too sneeze nor cough SO THE ANSWER IS FALSE

No you cannot cough or sneeze during either deep sleep or REM sleep.

note, they are two separate parts of a sleep pattern, deep sleep is not REM sleep.

that's not supposed to happen during REM sleep... if you wake up and sneeze or cough, that happened after you woke up and out of REM sleep
