It could mean different things for everyone, but for me it means learning who I am - not what I've been raised as or told to be or programmed to be through media/pop culture - and coming to accept and express this authentically.

It means knowing who you are, loving and accepting who you are, changing and adapting where you can/want to, and being able to be happy in and of yourself.

Some people go their whole lives not knowing how to be themselves, too. It's like they run from whatever doesn't fit their programming from childhood and formative years.

It's been my experience that, yes, it does.

But claiming your space and being who you are may also make others dislike you, but that's also okay. Being okay with who you are and unapologetically being who you are is bound to piss some people off.

We're not always going to be others' cups of tea. That's good! It's normal.

But knowing, accepting, and being who you are makes it easier for you to make friends with people who genuinely like who you are. And these friendships are worth every hater you might uncover. And you just get to ignore the hate, because YOU like who you are, and that's really all that matters.

Not always. Sometimes being yourself you might not necessarily fit in with some people. Sometimes being yourself might even offend people. I still believe honesty is best overall. I think it's better than being dishonest and fake.

You have a core set of values, likes and dislikes, strengths and weaknesses, behaviours and tendencies. How you act when you're relaxed, not trying to hide who you are, and not trying to impress anyone.
That's you. And it's so much easier to live life as that person rather then act as someone else.
So why not be yourself?

It means that you should be yourself. Show and be real, do what you believe is right and not care about people or society.

My motivation?

Well, I don't care about being liked, I only care about being myself, I care about doing what I believe is right. The source of my motivation is my own future, meaning when I die at that moment when I think about my life then I don't want have any regrets that I did not do what I wanted to do, I don't want to have any regrets that I was not being myself.

When I die I want to die with pride and with that thinking.

That is my motivation to always be myself, irrespective of the consequences.
