What are some of the true horror experiences you have had?

As a child when being dropped at a nursery school without understanding a single word of the language spoken there. The feeling of abandonment, and not understanding what I was doing there. After a few days I was released of that useless obligation.

As a teen, when my father announced us the death of our grandfather, and adding that now he was dead, we had the permission to pay him a visit.

When I was in my early twenties I was earning a living as tram conductor. One day, in a wide curve with the rails very near the footpath, suddenly a child left the sidewalk, ran straight towards the tram and stopped at a few centimeters. You have no idea what a shock that was. The mother just took the child back with her, and that was it.

If thought about it, nightmares may have nearly the same effect a real life incident can have.
But, I would prefer real life.

As a kid, it was a nightmare.
Other male members of my family had already been raped and I'd been molested. My mom sent me to a private school where the principal abused me physically for years.
For extensive reasons the homosexual community started picketing the school.
Like, freekazoid scary creatures.
Hey, like Madonna said, "there's nothing worse than a queen on the rag".
These people were scary for a little kid.
Once, I had a nightmare of being caught by gay men and drug down underground at my school.
Scariest nightmare I've ever had.
Then I found out what my brothers had actually done to deal with the very real threat of being kidnapped and raped and I never had a bad dream about them again.

Real life, aside from the above mentioned threat... swerving out of the way when a vehicle crashed in front of my car, seeing tracer bullets pass by the aircraft as were flying in Afghanistan, falling from the cliff and the anchor actually holding in place, getting a call from the local cop and him saying "your daughter is ok".

Oh, and so many times a dolphin would surface by my kayak but the fraction of a second when you're not sure if it's actually a shark... talk about your heart leaping into your throat!

When I was 12, I had a serious asthma crisis that made me skip school for a week. I had to go the hospital and received oxygen. Being unable to breathe is one of the most scariest experiences that a human being can have.
Also I was almost hit by a bus when I was 16. I was so lucky, I could have died that day.

I was grabbed off the sidewalk and stuffed into a car by 2 guys when I was 15. I am the youngest in my family and pretty feisty. Too make a long story short, I fought like crazy and managed to get the keys out of the ignition which helped me get away.
