Yeah we use to have several laser tag guns as kids in the 80s. We use to dig out trenches, spider holes, make tree forts, and other fortifications in vacant lots in the neighborhood and then play war games over several blocks area with laser tag guns. In the early 90s super soakers came out and that was the weapon of choice. By the mid 90s people were using paintball guns more widely. in the late 90s an amusement park was built in my home town and they also had laser tag there. Now I guess air soft is big.

I did once. I was 26 at the time, I think. And I was like, "man... I am way too old for this shit!"
I think Lazer Tag is a better activity for middle schoolers.

I also played paintball when I was like 21. I definitely preferred that. I would do it again, but I just have never gotten around to it.

i did enjoy it but i prefer paintball. there is more space to move around and since getting hit actually hurts a little i have more of an adrenaline rush when i play it.
also the maps at the paintball place in my area are just waaaay cooler than those at the Laser tag one

Yes, but not the official version. When my kids were growing up, we bought a cheap laser tag set that had two vests and two light guns... it was a birthday present for our oldest son. When the vest sensed the light hit its target, its alarms went off. The kids and parents took turns playing in the house for a few days until it was no longer fun. You had to be within 10 feet for the thing to work, and it never worked outside (too much ambient light I guess).

You are never too old for lazer tag. There's some pretty serious and dedicated arenas out there for lazer tag geared for adults.

i play with my nephews/neices but I can't run around anymore due to health issues so I have to get better at hiding and my sneak attacks. 🤣
