One of the cylinders on my Cadillac went about two months ago, and it’s not worth fixing because it has like 170k miles on it. I’ve been driving my dad’s Honda Pilot since then, which he really should just give/sell to me because he’s 90 and too disabled to be driving safely. I would’ve gotten a new car by now but it’s so expensive right now that it doesn’t make sense to if I can avoid it. I have plenty of money but it’s almost all invested so I’d have to sell stocks and whatnot, which are down in value right now, so if I took out $40k to buy a car right now, it’d be like I took out $60k in January. So it’s just not a great play, I’d rather just take my dad’s car and get something better when the prices come down again.

Anyway, when I first borrowed my dad’s car, he was apprehensive about not having a back-up car. If he was more reasonable, I’d take his car and keep my old one, fix it, and have it for emergencies. But he’s not, so here I am, lmao. And now, last night, the dashboard lit up like Chinese New Year, and I think there’s a problem with a cylinder in THIS car now🤦‍♂️ I can make it til tomorrow and slow roll it to my hockey class, but now I’ll have to get this thing fixed, which may or may not cost me money, don’t know if my dad would still pay. But more importantly, it throws my routine off, and my dad also thinks I have a job, but I actually just leave and play hockey and work out all day, lmao, fuckin’ fantasy camp over here😂

So it should be more cut-and-dry than it is, but because of my ongoing ruse it’s more difficult and I have to come up with reasons why I can get out of work for a few days, or have to go through the trouble and expense of renting a car that I could probably just not rent and stay home for a couple days. Made my own bed for this, even though I should be able to be doing what I’m doing if I want to, since I’m an adult, but my dad would give me too much shit, he doesn’t understand not working 80 hours a week and being completely focused on money. But I already have money, so fuckin’ chill and let me live, bro, lmao.

Anyway, my worry, I guess, is having to deal with him worrying and being like “I told you so” when we have a day or two where we don’t have a back-up car.
