What was your worst "Life can really suck" moment?

I don't know if this is my worst moment like that, but it was definitely a bad one.

One of my first clients for a videography business I started after college was a local charity that I won't name (for reasons that will become obvious later).

I had gotten this client on something of a turn of fate, and had done good video work for him. I was basically unsuccessful in attracting other clientele; so this head of the charity was my only client and he was paying me out of his own personal pocketbook. For reasons that I didn't understand until later, the local branch of his charity refused to use any of their money to pay for my services, so we were rather hampered in terms of budget, but I was making it work.

Despite my recommendations otherwise, my client decided that he wanted to make a length and style of video that I disagreed with. I believed it would be boring and he didn't really have a budget to do it properly, but he wanted to power on and he was paying, so that's what we did.

Well, lo' and behold, the video came out poorly (mostly because of content, but budgetary issues didn't help and people were just generally being uncooperative), after like a year of work. The other members of the charity talked a bunch shit, said they didn't need video, so my client got discouraged and ended our involvement. (Don't worry, he and I are actually on fantastic terms)

It turned out that a month later, the charity had a change of heart and decided that they did need video, and just happened to have the right team for the job! Because I'd lost my client; my business collapsed.

The members of this charity sabotaged me and the founder of their organization (inadvertently causing my business to collapse) because they wanted someone else to do the video work.

My father died suddenly. Somebody from his office called me and told me he collapsed and the ambulance took him to the hospital. When I got to the hospital I was told he did not make it.

To many people I grew up with that were cool as fuck are gone and they all keep passing away by the numbers and they're all so close. It's crazy I'm glad it ain't me though

@Fuentes Yes, my high school graduating class has a Facebook page. It has a list of everyone who has died. There are a lot of them and not just the ones that you would expect to be dead.
