Yes of course, especially if it was a woman, I’ll freely admit if I heard a man’s voice yelling for help in any situation where I could not see him (I. e. down a darkened alleyway, or in a deeply wooded area), then I doubt I would run to help without calling police first! Clearly my thinking would be that it could be a trap! Even if not… if a man could not defeat whatever attacked him, then tiny little 5’1” girly me would have NO CHANCE! But if it were a woman screaming for help… then yes, I don’t care, I’m going to help her, I’d call the police first (obviously), but I would not wait for them to arrive, before running off to help her!

As a trained Search and Rescue Volunteer for half of a decade, I was taught that you can't help others if you are in no position to help yourself, but when one way fails there is always another.

Well no, because here is the thing, let's take you in this picture as the perfect example, imagine you need help, I'll be thinking that helping you is actually tempting, I'm not helping some old hag for example, so I'm thinking if I should help you or not, then I think to myself that this must be a trap, damsel in distress wearing a western outfit, that has 1860s cowboy outlaw scam written all over it, the moment I decide to help you'll either stab me or your 16 brothers and 237 cousins decide to ambush me... Yea no the world is too smart for me to act dumb

not too long ago I heard a woman screaming for help at like 1 am on an empty dark street. I hesitated and was about to go help but I didn’t know if it was smart to get myself involved 😬 I could of gotten myself hurt or it even could of been a trap where I ended up getting mugged or some shit.

if it was day time and there were other people around, it would have been a different story. So all I did was call 911 and let the police know what I heard..

I'd like to say yes, but I walk by lots of people asking for help. so the answer is maybe.

One regret this year was not responding to an animal (some kind of bird... maybe a turkey) asking for help which I later found dead. I should have got it water or called animal control. I can be heartless sometimes and I don't like that about me, I must change.

No, too risky also in my country it's forbidden to do those things, we need to call the police cause if we help the person we would be considered as aggressor since we aren't self defending ourself but someone else and this doesn't count as self defense.

Yes if it does not seem like a trap. For example, if a woman yells for help at night in a secluded area, I will scout things out first to see if it is a trap or not. I have enough life and combat experience to detect when my life is in danger or not.

However, that doesn't necessarily mean that people who don't try and help, can get sued either it's just, the person who tried to help DEF. can't get sued as they TRIED to help, and failed
