Am I being a pest for wanting to change a mattress and bed frame in a room I rent?

Landlord doesn’t want me to buy a new mattress and bed frame to replace the one they provided me with. I’m renting a room and the mattress is caved in, old and has a hole in the mattress. I told her I’ll buy it myself but he doesn’t want me to and tells me if I don’t like it here, then leave.. wtf. Then had the nerve to tell me that they just put in there. Now they wanna give me another used mattress and box spring

No, you are being perfectly reasonable. The mattress is there for your use or not. But if you can, I would find somewhere else to live. Your landlord is not a nice person.
