It depends on the definition of wealth. I own a lot of acreage and paid off homes, but have no cash anymore these days due to losses in the stock market and bad business deals (was ripped off). But, with next to no bills and very high wages, I can "create" wealth. Real wealth is in life experiences, knowledge, education, family, friends, and spirituality/religion. I am very good friends, for over 20 years, with 2 persons of the "1%" money wise and both have had health problems and life issues. We all have something we want or lack, we all have to create the best out of what situation we are in and do the best possible where we are to step to a higher level in life. It is when we do too much that the price is too high, regardless of the reward. Have enough to meet daily ends and be content, and you will be richer than many multimillionaires who never have enough.

However, I am rich with experience and knowledge which compensates largely for the lack of financial wealth. Also, I am rich in terms of good health. If I compare with Steve Jobs for example, he was filthy rich but he was in poor health. Look what happened to him. All his billions could not save him. Of what good was his fortune against his pancreatic cancer? Right, it did not help him stay alive. Thus, who is richer? A person without financial assets but in good health or a rich or very rich person with such a bad health that there is no hope to keep him/her alive?

It is all relative , what you find as rich , others see as poor. Millionaires don't think they are rich that billionaires are rich. A billionaire would see someone worth a million as lower class poor.

Rich? no. Let's just say that I'm comfortable.

Hell no... no one here is. Rich is 1 billion today... not 1 million.

  I think that having a million dollars still makes you pretty rich, especially if you're young. A billion dollars would put you well within the "very rich" category of this poll.

  I guess it is relative. A million can not buy you a house in California but it barely can buy you a Quad rental in the Southeast USA. Where i reside your 2200-2400sgft two story garage vinyl is 650,000. In Simi Valley CA that house is almost double...
