Did you know a giraffes long neck is for carrying their young?

When I was a little girl I was taught their long necks were for reaching high leaves. Later I heard the theory they were for fighting. However it turns out giraffes are really boring to watch and hardly anyone has bothered for more than half an hour. Now using hidden cameras scientists have learnt they use their long necks to keep their young out of the reach of predators. Scientists also believe it helps them them acclimatise to heights.
