The foil can't even protect against smudges, not that that would actually matter though. If someone wanted to get in and they really wanted to get in by the door, it would be easy for them to just remove the foil, not that they would enter through the door when there are more susceptible points of entry but if they did you can be sure lock picking is one of the last methods they would use.
