In the US, men are not permitted to have expectations of women, ever. I know a guy who lost everything in divorce after beating up the guy his wife was cheating on him with. The judge literally told him he had no right to expect monogamy from his own wife. “She’s her own person and you don’t own her,” she said. No joke. He kept a copy of the official transcripts to show doubters. I WAS a doubter.
