yes both my husband and I have a fear, with knife crime and killing like it is, that either one of us could be in the wrong place at the wrong time, we are both trained in self defence but there is always that thing there, not much but its there,

Becoming very ill, mentally or physically incapacitated and all the problems that come along with this.

That is what I mean from my own answer. I'd hate that and not want to live like that.

Unless you completely can't move at all or do anything for yourself, I think adjustments can be made. I'm not gonna WANT to die if there's some joy that can be squeezed out of life despite restrictions. I know someone who did that and did her best and had lots of joy until she died this past week.

I was thinking along the lines of not being able to move at all. You're friend was very courageous and sounds like she had a beautiful spirit with what happened to her. I'm sorry for your loss!
I know a man who became blind when he was about 14, due to negligence on the part of a nurse who told his father to bring him in for an appointment to an eye doctor much later than she should have. as a result, he lost complete vision. He had glaucoma, and so his condition worsened. He was very bitter about this, understandably, but today he works as a social worker, is married and has children.

I fear the possibility that the government will figure out a way to wipe out my IRA. Without it, everything is lost.

That is your money, as in having money in your bank account. The govt cannot touch it, much like it cannot touch your personal assets.
