So my job has us contacting people in New York regarding some home inspections to try to make sales and shit and we’re supposed to say “When we did your home inspection on 9/11...” I just feel thats really jacked up of the company for us to even have to call someone bringing up such a date. Today i’m going to just skip over the date unless someone asks. But i just feel bad that the company didn't think this one through... Maybe i’m just being paranoid but it don’t sit right in my heart. My job has already made us contact people before asking for their decreased spouse (because they never checkup to see who’s still alive or not), and that was an emotional conversation in itself

Okay so i tried it with one lady. I skipped over the date/day and she was like “so when did someone come inspect.” I was like, “yesterday/Sunday” and she was like HE’S A MOTHERFCKIN LIE! I HAVE CAMERAS AND NO ONE CAME 😂🤣 Damn, Houston we have another problem

I ran into something similar a long time ago. I went to an introduction thing for potential real estate agents. After the intro, the company wanted to hire me. Then I found out that they wanted me to go through the obituaries and make cold calls to the families of the recently deceased to see if they wanted to sell their house. Those obits appear only a few days after the person died. Like wtf?

I worked in a call center before briefly & I realized my list was a retirement home. The people I called were happy to talk to someone but no idea whats going on. I told my supervisor thinking it wasn’t appropriate taking advantage of them & she said thats great sign them up !

When I used to do that I used to max out on leads by NOT following the stupid script they gave me. It gave them too many opportunities to say no. I’d call say what they offered, pause. They’d ask what it was I’d move into the script a little then pause. It got them interested by giving them crumbs not babbling this long winded script.

When you got a lead you walked up to this big marker board with a column down the side with client names. You put a check mark beside the one you called for.

I think they wanted a min per day and week if you didn’t get any they let you go. I used to get 4-5 a day and then just fuck around waste time.

They wanted to know how I did it & told owner/boss by not following the stupid script. She was offended apparently she made them.

The place eventually got shut down after police arrested the owner.

Im def expecting our owner to get arrested for client harassment lmao. They want 12 leads daily and 90-100’clients. Took me 3 months to get to 80 clients 🤣 And i still can't get past 6-10 leads a day

My friend was the manager one day while hanging out she suggested I find another job. I was like what? Thought I was doing good?

She showed me a spread sheet out of this pile showing different months. I looked at one month every week showed a client name and a dollar amount. One month was $63000 total. I asked what it was.

She said those clients have been calling complaining saying they were being charged randomly to their credit cards. She asked the owner who said she’d take care of it.

So she resigned and got a letter of recommendation in case the owner tried blaming her. Then made a statement to police. Day after she quit police showed up told everyone to leave took owner away. She was kicking and fighting the police as they took her out. I stood there laughing all these old ladies worked there were crying

People will more than likely need to know dates for home inspections that were conducted and if asked you will need to give a date.

It would make sense you have to give an actual date Dizzy. You can't just say what day, you have to include the entire date to include day, month and year. Your update kind of shows why.

My question was more in regards to clarify if they were exploiting the actual date of 9/11/2001 like something like the actual event caused collateral damage to their homes or was being used to create business vis some bs scam.

Depends. If they were intentionally using the date as a ploy then thats some shady shit. If it was just a reference to the date as in any other date is used then that seems fine to me. We all know what day it is on 9/11. Most of us will even stop to reflect at some point. So we already know so it seems unnecessary to avoid mentioning it unless there is some ulterior motive, like using it in a used car sales add to drum up budiness.

Yeah, if you word it like that, it might throw some people off but, if they’re expecting your call, and you start out talking about the home inspection, the date would only be secondary information. I wouldn’t be triggered by it and I was fairly close to where the attacks took place.
