I'm latina and not religious nor 100% prolife, are you surprised?

In regards to religion. I'm actually atheist. I don't believe in the afterlife either. The only life worth is this life. Do the best you can, treat others good, accomplish your goals and that's it. When you die, you're not going anywhere. You'll become bones and dust. That's it.

I'm not 100% prolife and believe there are exceptions. For instance I think it's super cruel to force a raped 12 year-old girl to carry the baby full term. She already had sex done against her will; her childhood, her innocence got destroyed... what's next, further traumatize her by having another thing done against her will? For me the 3 exceptions are: rape, the mother will die giving birth or the baby will be born deformed with a short lifespan.

No, I'm a Latina woman born in South America. I was raised in the US and lived there for years. Though now I'm in my country with my family.

I fail to understand why a rape victim or if a mother's life is threatened by death have to still be forced to continue the pregnancy?
I called those cases exceptional because they're different from the women just wanting to abort for the sake of it, doing it just to do it.

By forcing a 12 year-old raped victim to still carry the baby because of your ''oh but it's a life, it's a blessing from god'' BS that right there I feel it's lacking empathy for her. It can be a risky pregnancy too and the kid can die.

Well in case of the rape victim, the child is innocent.. There have been women who went on to carry babies from their rapist, and raised them with love despite how they came into existence.. My sister was one.. I do believe a woman in that situation should get all the help she needs and more..
As for the mothers life being threatened by death.. I don't think anybody would force her to carry it if that's the case.. That wouldn't be classified as an abortion also, because if the mother might die the baby might die also..

Sorry to hear about your sister and she's very brave to move forward, still raise the baby and provide him/her love. Honestly if I got raped, part of me would want me to have an abortion but as a 35 year-old childless woman with time running out at the same time, I don't know what I would do. Very hard position.

yeah I don't really understand the prolife fanatics that would still force a poor raped girl to undergo another traumatic event in her life. She already got her innocence, her life destroyed and now she has to give her, which is risky if she's that young.

Yeah I guess so. Many still think we're into god and religion, against protected sex in a relationship (against birth control methods basically) and against abortion even if it's a case of rape or the mother's life is threatened. I'm still childless at 35 lol... so much for the ''latina popping children like crazy'' stereotype too.
I believe college education and a good comfortable life might play a role in shifting views.

It's a small percentage. That's why I said I'm not 100% against abortion. I'm in favor of it in those cases.
