I don’t need advice on this but how do YOU introduce a new pet to your current pet (s), have any interesting stories?

I should be getting a new kitten soon (in a week or so) if they are ready to be separated from their mother but I won’t know until Wednesday. I’m nervous yet excited. I’ll have to keep the kitten in a cage while at work tho because 2 of my dogs are kinda hyper when introduced to new animals and I don’t want anything to happen to the kitten while I’m at work. My dogs aren’t crazy or harm other animals just hyper as hell.

That works. Or (outside of your case) put the kitten in a lockable (as dogs are often capable of opening doors, especially if excited) room. They can still interact with smells under the door.

It’s important to make corrections to unwanted obnoxious and overly defensive behaviors on both the cat and dogs part. Even when caged. It makes them all safer. It shows you are the leader, not them. You decide what’s fair in your home.

Just put them together in the backyard and see how they get along and have positive energy the dogs can sense fear and concern and worries. Most dogs don’t like cats anyway are you sure this is a good idea

My dogs get along fine with cats as I had 2 cats before one of mine passed away, the cats couldn’t be outside especially since I’m betting the kitten won’t have its’ shots and my cat is due for his which I plan to get for him when I get paid. My cat handles the dogs well even protecting my other cat when he was younger (my cat was fearful of the two hyper dogs I have and my living cat would scratch and hiss at the dogs for getting too close).
