Why would a witness change their mind about testifying?

I went to court and the plaintiffs witness changed their mind about testifying against me. I was confused that they didn’t want to talk. I seen her look at me evidence and after that she did not come up to talk. What do you think happened?

normally someone is scared when they do this or under questioning/interviews they can't remember what they witnessed clearly enough to be considered as reliable

Scared? But it is her boyfriend that is cheating and being accused in court

I dont know the situation, but typically where a witness refuses to testify it stems from some fear

Do you think she knows he’s guilty of cheating and did not want to speak after she seen messages between the two? When the lawyer and them looked over the papers she did not want to talk anymore

could well be, something chaged her mind, whether she learned something new that made her evidence/opinion look like a lie or she was scared of the consequences, its anyones guess really eh?

Maybe somebody threatened her or she had a change of heart
