Reason is a function that exists only in the same mind that wonders about it, and so the reason for life is whatever one believes is the reason for life. That may be vaguely unnerving but that, too, exists in the same mind so it can be neutralized by just not thinking about it too much.

Reasons arise from the desires of conscious beings. There's no evidence of a higher consciousness responsible for the existence of the universe, so there's no telling whether there is a purpose for our existence, or if there is, what that purpose could be.
