Have you recently lost a companion animal that you had for a long time and loved dearly?

I just had my beautiful feline companion of 18 years euthanized, and it feels like losing a human being. Has this happened to you, and did you feel the same as I do? He had liver cancer that had spread, and he was in kidney failure. Still, it was horrible. I stayed with him until his heart stopped.

I have but not recently. It was difficult to deal with, and was the only time I ever saw my dad cry. Pets are family and you never stop missing them. Sorry for your loss.

Happy I could be of help! By the way, I looked at the picture and you can just tell he was loved and that you gave him a good life.

I tried, God knows I tried very hard, and he seemed to love the way he was loved and cared for.

Animals are more intelligent than most give them credit for. He knew.

With humans there are mixed emotions. Animals it’s just pure, committed, and non-judgmental love. For years. It hurts that much because we love them that much.

Cannot get the picture of him lying there in the table, taking his last breath. My home is so empty this morning.

That is one of the hardest parts. Copy off some pictures and put one in each room. Having a physical image to see and touch helped me.
