This is agood question, I'm thinking of taking my cat back for check up when she turns one in December. She got all her other shots and checks back in earlier this summer. I get worried about her cause I feel like she's so skinny in the face and she eats a lot but super energetic. I'm sure she fine but I'm worry wort lol

  • How Often to Take Your Kitten or Cat to the Vet

You might be wondering how frequently you should take your kitten or cat to the vet if you're a new cat owner. The answer, of course, relies on a variety of elements, such as the age, health, and way of life of your cat.

You can use the following general rules to determine how frequently to take your cat to the veterinarian:

    - During the first several months of life, kittens should visit a veterinarian every 2-4 weeks. This is done to make sure they are developing normally and to identify any health issues as soon as possible.

    - Cats should visit a veterinarian at least once a year for a checkup.

    - Cats with long-term health issues, such diabetes or kidney illness, will require more frequent vet visits, typically every 2-4 weeks.
    - Since outdoor cats are more likely to develop illnesses and parasites, they should visit the vet at least twice a year.

    - Of course, you should always take your cat to the vet straight away if you have any worries about their health. Ask your veterinarian for advice if you're unclear of how frequently to take your cat to the doctor.

    Kitten Vet Visits

Visits to the veterinarian for your kitten are crucial for its health and wellbeing. Several infections and ailments that can be fatal if neglected are contagious in kittens. It is crucial to take them to the veterinarian for routine checkups and vaccines because of this.

The veterinarian will examine your kitten and look for any symptoms of disease or damage during the visit. They will also perform a comprehensive physical examination on them, paying particular attention to their lips, nose, eyes, and ears. Additionally, the veterinarian will listen to the animal's heart and lungs to look for any anomalies.

Additionally, your kitten will require vaccinations against several illnesses, such as rabies, feline leukemia, and cat flu. The first series of immunizations for kittens should be given about eight weeks old, and the second round should be given around twelve weeks.

The veterinarian will also offer you tips on how to take care of your kitten, such as what to feed it, how to housebreak it, and how to keep it healthy and content.

    Adult Cat Vet Visits

Even our feline pals do not enjoy visiting the doctor. However, just like people, cats require routine checkups to ensure their health and to identify any issues before they become serious. It's crucial to take your adult cat to the vet at least once a year because of this.

The doctor will conduct a thorough physical examination on your cat during the adult cat checkup. This entails examining their coat, ears, mouth, eyes, and weight. The veterinarian will also feel the animal's belly for any unusual lumps or swellings and listen to its heart and lungs.

A few standard urine and blood tests may also be advised by the vet. These tests can aid in the early detection of any illnesses or diseases. Additionally, they can be used to keep an eye on your cat's general health and look for any negative affects from any drugs your cat may be receiving.

A good time to ask any questions you may have regarding your cat's health or care is during its visit to the veterinarian. Additionally, it's a fantastic chance for the doctor to share some advice with you on how to maintain your cat's wellbeing.

    Senior Cat Vet Visits

A senior cat might need to see the vet more frequently. Vet appointments for senior cats are crucial to keeping them healthy and spotting any potential health issues early.

The doctor will examine your elderly cat's weight, temperature, heart rate, and respiration during the visit. They will also evaluate your cat's overall health and search for any indications of disease or discomfort. To look for underlying health issues, the veterinarian may advise blood testing or other diagnostic procedures.

Even if your cat appears to be in good health, it's crucial to schedule regular senior cat doctor appointments. Cats age more quickly than people do, and health issues can arise suddenly. You may help your cat live a longer, healthier life by identifying issues early.

But fuck those vets (acually all vets in "this" country) who charge an arm and a leg for the smallest attrention. Insurance is always a scam. I am going through that pain with 2 of my cats.

Yeah I know the feeling 😂 except for me I don’t deal well with getting clawed like that ya gotta defend yourself against a cat or they fuck you up even more if a cat wants to claw me to death like that I’m gonna start smacking back so I don’t get clawed up as much if I don’t protect myself by smacking back the cat will Turn your entire arm into a complete bloody mess that takes a entire month or longer to heal

Only if it shows signs of being sick and refuses to eat.

Also, Id take my cat to get yearly shots, if she was outside a lot.
