Should I take the cat to the animal shelter?

My neighbor upstairs left with his family for a week today. They took both dogs with them and left their cat out in the cold. The cat was crying at my door to come in. I brought her in and fed her. I really don’t know what to do. I don’t have a litter box for her. Should I take the cat to the animal shelter? I need advice please.

you can put out a box with a blanket for shelter out of the rain and wind. Cats can use the bathroom outside wherever, but obviously need food and water along with shelter. You can usually call your local humane society or shelter to find out the best thing to do.

Your neighbor upstairs left with his family for a week, just take care of the cat for now, they'll be back soon enough. Litter boxes are cheap as is the litter. When they get back, tell them how much they owe you
