I fully agree. Most people sh*t and fart like everyone else. If Superman was real and existed today, he'd be a Leftist snowflake working for big corporations and corrupt government officials. Because "law and order" isn't always synonymous with "moral good and the right thing."
I never had any heroes growing up though, but the closest guy I wanted to be like when I was young, was Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. And while he hasn't been revealed to be a total ass yet... I don't want to meet him anymore.
I’m on the fence here— I’ve never officially met someone I find to be a “hero” but I recently connected with one of my favorite authors via instagram. I still admire her but it was a very one sided conversation where she was aware that I wanted to ask questions and connect. But connection for me means both parties knowing each other. So it was odd to talk to someone without sharing my own… self… or whatever. She answered my questions in a beautiful way. But it was clear that I was interacting with her as an author, and only as that.
So I supposed in some way, there was a level of disappointment.
They rarely live up to your expectations
The notion that no man is a hero to his valet is easily defused by asking how many men would be a valet to their hero.
