Girls, do your parents teach you anything about self-defense when you were young? What did they teach you?

The reason I asked is that I just learned from my sister that both my parents did teach her on multiple occasions about how to defend herself if she's in trouble, but I don't remember having any. I wonder if it's because she's a girl...

Yes maybe because she's a girl and they know girls are much more often assaulted out there.
Or maybe because she already was assaulted and she asked your parents some help.

I don't know how old she is and now there are a lot of self defence class available and videos but I guess it was not so obvious years ago

Well in 7th grade I taught myself how to high kick and my mom told me that if anyone I don't know tries to grab me I can kick them, bite them, scream, punch, scratch them basically anything to make the person let go of me and I'm currently working on pepper spray

I got taught that if I get touched by someone random or assaulted, I should just let them do it and not say anything because if I scream or say something like for example “stop it! Don’t touch me!” , I would hurt their feelings and I also got taught that if someone does anything it’s all my fault in the first place. So, I try to dress modest and cover my body? I’m sorry

My parents never cared about me, so never taught me anything. Everything I know I learned by myself.
Yes, your parents probably taught your sister because she's a girl. She's more likely to get attacked.
