Hahaha I love how it's still 50/50
I like dogs but I'm allergic to them and barking really bothers me.
I prefer cats because they purr, they generally aren't loud, they are softer to snuggle with, and they naturally give off a sweet scent (what they use to mark territory) so their skin smells like vanilla.
I have like a muscle memory to bury my face in a cat's neck and smell them because it's comforting so when I pick up a dog I accidentally do that sometimes and OOF... they don't smell nice!
My main issue with cats is mainly with MY Cat because she likes to lick people's faces and it burns because of her little tongue hooks. I don't like being licked by dogs either but at least it doesn't feel like sandpaper. :( I can't get her to stop though because she just loves me and she loves giving kisses and she's an innocent animal who doesn't know any better.
Also, dogs tend to feel anxious if you hug them but vets will even tell you to "squish" a cat when you pick them up because the pressure makes them feel secure and that's more my style. If I see a cute animal I want to squeeze them so I get along better with cats since they naturally like to be squeezed a little.
I love cat licks even though they are rough, they are sweet! Dog licks can be good but often too wet and slimy!
You must have some different breed of cats than exist where I live. I love cats to death, but I've never smelled a cat who smells like vanilla. And they do indeed mark, even the females, but their piss smells something fierce. Like 10x worse than my whiz after eating asparagus, and sitting in a 5 gallon bucket for a week in 95 degree weather. I would suggest you might go to an Ear Nose Throat Specialist, because whiz does not smell like vanilla.
A dog barking may bother you, but they usually bark to alert you!
Barking of a dog, could actually save one's life.
@BeautifullyShattered
Number of times dog barking has alerted me to danger and saved my life: 0-1
Number of times dog barking has been incessantly annoying while everyone in the vicinity was completely safe and in no danger whatsoever: >1,000
Don't get me wrong, I love dogs. But the "barking saves lives" argument, while potentially true in one in a million cases, is generally not the case. YMMV
@zeitgeist057 Yeah the slimy-ness is really bad! I don't mind if she does it a few times gently but she really drags her tongue across my face and scrapes me. I guess it's like her version of when you see your cat being cute and get overwhelmed and just want to squeeze the heck outta them.
@zeitgeist057 TRUE. 99.9% of the time it just gives me a headache :(
I still love dogs too though... I just like the quieter dogs best lol
@zeitgeist057 Like you say YMMV. I tell you what, I know people that to me are irrationally afraid of dogs. Just like people who are afraid to fly. Under 10 years of age, I was bit in the chest by a Dog, who I visited many times before with no problemo. I had to lay down on a couch for a good hour or two whilst my chest got black, blue, yellow and everything in between. The owner was so so sorry, and so nice, when talking to my parents, we did not care. When I tell people who are afraid of dogs about that experience? They don't get it. They love dogs themselves, if they are acclimated first. But, they are still afraid to go to anyone else's house where they a know a dog is present.
But it is indeed a fact. Dogs have killed people.
I've also had an infection from a cat, who was used to a dog prior. Get a new dog that loves to run down and chase kitties up a tree? Try to acclimate the kitty to the new dog, and I got 3 fingers digged in hardcore and got a nice infection to all three fingers. All three fingers did a molting process after antibiotics. One of the fingers was numb for 2 months afterwards. You live, and you move on.
@bayoubomber Yeah cat pee is deadly and why would I be smelling their pee on purpose? I'm talking about their skin. The actual compound that creates the scent is apparently 4-thio-4-methylpentan-2-1 and honestly, I think somebody should synthesize it into a perfume...
It's most concentrated around a cat's cheeks, neck, and shoulder blades and is characterized by its sweet, light, and almost fruity scent. It's a real thing that's been studied! https://catcheckup.com/why-cats-smell-good
Proud pupper person here💛

I’d show y’all pics of my actual German shepherd but I’d rather keep privacy 💛 but these are the cutest pics I found on Pinterest of German shepherd that look similar to mine :)
Looks *
I like that you protected your doggie's image and privacy. But, you exploited another doggie's image and privacy.
The dog is actually a public figure since it’s on Pinterest :) so it’s okay because the owner thought it was okay to share the pics online for others to admire.
It's called an honor system. So, If I go to any site where you post pictures of your kids, grand parents, aunts/uncles, brothers/sisters, I can use your images to portray my family for reasons of privacy?
We can. But we need the Caveat of explicitly stating that we are simply doing impersonations. So, I agree in that sense. Simply because you told us outright that your dog was impersonated. I still don't see why you must do that.
“Simply because you told us outright that your dog was impersonated” Never shared that piece of information. I just said I wanted to keep my pups pictures private because it defeats the purpose of anonymity, if I were to post a picture of my actual pet people who knew me would know right away who the pet belongs to. It’s just to steer clear of creeps. No one’s arguing here so there’s no point in arguing :)
“So, If I go to any site where you post pictures of your kids, grand parents, aunts/uncles, brothers/sisters, I can use your images to portray my family for reasons of privacy?”
And here is where you are misinformed. If you were to go on let’s just say, am Instagram account that is clearly private and you grabbed a picture from their account that was clearly private and posted it on this domain, then yes you are in big trouble for impersonation therefore you’d have your tail in between your legs. But, if they are public figures like the Kardashians who have a large spread of following and fame then there wouldn’t be a problem since they are therefore a public family. So in this sense, it applies towards pictures like these, Pinterest is an app where millions of users share photos for people to either gain influence or show appreciation of the posts (photos and videos) it is usually an app where content creators (Instagram models, bloggers etc.) share their ideas to help others and for those others to share with others in order to gain recognition. Simply put, this post is legal since I therefore am NOT defaming a pet owners doggy :)
Hope that helps xx
LMFAO
I love both, but for my life style my kitties are much better.
You can go away for a day or two, and with clean boxes, lot of water and a full self-feeder they are just fine, but with a dog you or someone needs to be there every so many hours to let them out, if you go somewhere is it too hot or too cold to leave them in the car.
I had a dog, loved him to death, and changed my life around just for him, but as much as I would love another dog, I just don't see myself getting another one.
Hmmmmm... Felines are quite darn cute too, but so is canines. However, canines are generally more social to people in general and less likely to be violent against their owner.
I follow both type of content creators on youtube is there an all answer?

Cat person all day. I don't hate dogs, i just am not interested in keeping one. I have always loved cats and owned cats, But recently, i have been lucky enough for someone to give me a new pet/dog. I slowly began to realize how clingy dogs can be, so they get kind of annoying...
Cat person.
I like both, but i kept cats mostly because dogs require more attention than i’m prepared to offer responsibly.
I was a dog person. But my wife and old age made me a cat person. I like how much it takes care of itself.
Though I’d say I’m not as attached to our cat as I was with my dog before she died. Maybe because she was my childhood dog, and such emotions were there.
And my wife is the cat’s favorite.
Both between my mom (1) my sister (3) and myself (2) we have 5 cats and 1 Lhasa Apso oh we are also fostering 5 kittens till they old to go to their forever home, I know its wrong to like/love one over another but there a couple that their personalities just stand out over the others
More of dogs, because they like happy, children if raised right. Cats... are just as nice but I guess I don't wanna get scratched or something knocked over THAT I JUST FUGGIN' BOUGHT, GODDAMIT MR. CUPCAKES!
I watched a funny video of a comedian talking about this.
You: Well, I'm going to work now.
Cat: And? Why are you telling me this?
Dog: Can I go with you? Please, please, please...
I like both, but if they bite or keep going potty in he house their gone
Hommie Don't Play That
I love both of them equally. I've owned more cats because it is hard to have a big dog when you do not own a house and small dogs tend to be adorable little assholes. Then again cats can be adorable little assholes as well lol
I’m an animal person. I like cats, I like dogs. I currently have dogs, would eventually like a specific breed of cat and I’m considering reptile and maybe a rodent
Dog.
Or... Whatever this thing is:
Lol maybe... That or a zombie dog. Possibly possessed as well XP
I think she's blind, I don't know about her jaw deformity. :/

Dogs everytime, especially mine
Dogs. They are adorable, fun, and loyal companions to us.
Cats are sociopathic little demon-bots.
Im a cat person
Both. Choosing is like choosing between water or air. I just can't..
I live with both but I can't pick, they both have there upsides and down sides.
Cats. I have 9, 2 adult to 4 large kittens and 3 smaller kittens. They are 2, 2-parent families. All charcoal gray.
Voted dog because he’s mine, but I’m definitely both. We have both and they are great
I'd say I like dogs more because neither of my parents like cats my mom had a bunch of cats growing up and my dad thinks are too sneaky
Mostly cats. Although some are so stupid and annoying that they do not deserve to live.
I can respect proper breeds of dogs but they don't fit my lifestyle.
Either way, not really an animal lover. Probably better I have neither.
Cats please. Nothing wrong with dogs but I'm happy to let others have them.
I like both, but I prefer a dog. They don't smell as bad.
Shame on you!
@24_7_Amazing Cats are nice, but the shred furniture and they smell VERY bad when they get old.
Did you know? When a cat owner dies, cats start off my eating your face that same day.
Dogs wait at least 7 days and they start off with the legs.
Cats are more independent, and you don't have to babysit them like you do children and dogs.
I agree
You should have put down a Vote C - Both
I love cats and dachshunds 😃👍. And I’ve owned both
I love both, but I don't have room for the size dogs I want, so I have cats. They're easier to care for too.
I love Dogs, but I do like Cats my last Dog was a Cockerspaniel
both as well! I plan on getting tons of kittens and puppies in the near future
I have had both for pets but cats would serve my lifestyle better these days.
They are both great but dogs take too much devotion.
Dog! Cats are waste of fur!! And it's not even good fur!!
I have both. And goats, sheep, and a horse. I love them all.
I like both, but definitely lean more towards cats
Kitties! Really there is a connection between me and cats that sometimes doesn't even require food.
Cats. Definitely cats!
I like dogs too but not as much I like cats.
I'm an all around animal person, I love all animals
It depends on the circumstance! Both have different pros and cons
Neither, not into animals like that.
Cats are great, but I don't know how to train them not to destroy my house. Small dogs would be easier for keeping my stuff intact.
The golden retriever!!
i like both but i LOVE CATS
so i picked cats
Cats!!! I looove them!!!
I'm a dog person... with cats
i like all animals but dogs more
I like both too but I prefer cats
Dog. There's not much meat on a cat.
They both like me but I'd get a cat.
