How do you overcome your fears?

I always saw them as a challenge starting from a little kid. I'm not sure if that's a good way though. I've been hospitalized so many times for things including being bitten by poisonous spiders, poisonous ants (in Malaysia, they were huge and so venomous!), scorpions, and snakes (never anything too deadly but my arm swelled up like popeye one time), two sets of tooth scars from wild and vicious dogs (I wanted to tame them and kiss them and first hospital trip just made me want to try again), etc.

I always find when I'm afraid of something that it's exciting and I should do something. I think while sane people move away from danger to their health or reputation, I find it fun and exciting to move toward danger.

But I am a bit too extreme. I have paid such a cost not only to my own body but even heartbreaks like people who hurt too much worrying about me (I didn't mean to make them worry so much) and left me. But as an extreme type, my way is like you see you see something that makes you afraid and you see it as a fun challenge. We don't live forever and if you're going to hell, that's a huge challenge to face eternal torture! So you might as well face so many painful and nightmarish fears right now if you think you're going to hell so that hell isn't so bad.

Make a plan, like a to-do list to get through it, one thing at a time. Although, depending on the fear, I just jump right into it with the first idea that comes to mind and let the chips fall where they may.

If really needed, I ask for advice from people I see who are fearless in what I fear. So I can get their perspective. Just yesterday and today I spoke with my sister and her fiance about an issue that brought up a lot of fear, where they are both strong, because I couldn't figure out a way on my own. From talking to them, I saw what fit my situation better, made a plan and took one step forward.
