Trending & News Do some people take Social Media too seriously?

Just like in real life, people are entitled to have their opinion. It is only 1 humans opinion.
You will react by feeling offended misstake it for criticism.
People who are old enough to realise that these terms changes the younger a person is. Should xpress their opinion accordingly, not like an attack dog. That is also the behavior of getting offended. And wanting to provoke.
Don't think for a second that it is okey to behave how ever you want just because you cannot see the person. And are feeling really secure behind a monitor.
If its really that hard to not be an asshat, I assume the person is very immature, young. I've seen older people in all ages act so disgusting to each other. And its a very toxic kind of cultivation that is going on @any social media platform.
Your second question is so insightful. Yes, people take social media waaaaaaay to seriously and they take it personally. That's the disappointing part: people have opinions and others don't have to like them but they are opiy. Let it go. So, yes, sometimes it's amusing but it stops being amusing when people are mean or hateful and their speech reflects that.
Unfortunately, that is about 90% of today's social media. Then you have all the fairly young 20's something Tik Toc girls who have been dying lately. Makes me think Tik Toc is not a good social media site.
I think so, especially when you consider that getting offended is a choice that people CHOOSE to make.
There is virtually nothing that can offend me, the exceptions are someone who is a rapist sympathizer, I don't even try to hide that.
Depends on the context of what was said. Some comments are unnecessarily harsh and hateful. It's a bit difficult to find them funny
In a lot of cases yes. I'm sure you have heard people ranting about seemingly nothing. You don't chuckle to yourself at their tirades?

So you think it's funny that teens and children commit suicide because they were bullied and offended on the internet? The high teen suicide rate is funny to you?
No hard feelings; you just do you. It's okay if you're a sadist. That's your fetish, after all. You cannot help it.
First of all, I just asked. That in no means is an admission of guilt.
Well, to me, it's not funny at all when someone is being offended on the Internet, and I don't think most people think it's funny, either.
It's no longer schoolyard bullying. Now people go online and harass their victims. They pretend to be your friend, you share your personal secrets with them, and then they publicly humiliate you. Even after the bullying is done, they still dwell on it and become suicidal, which ruins their quality of life.
We need to use technology to improve people's quality of life, not hurt them. You don't think it's funny when someone makes fun of the way you look or how you act, and I don't think it's funny to make fun of people, either. People get publicly humiliated, and now they can't get a job because of some idiot put bad pictures of them out on the Internet, and then they want to hurt themselves.
Hunter Moore hacked people's emails, stole their pictures, and uploaded them to the internet and they were harassed. Alex jones lies about sandy hook families, and they get harassed.
Cyberbullying is worse than traditional bullying and has long-term effects on the victims.
Well, I am happy you changed your mind about it. And I didn't think you were a bad person; just you had a weird fetish. Read "Cyberbullying: Bullying in the Digital Age" for more details.
There are different ways to be offended. It is not all as you say. The offending I am talking about is all these people getting pissed at something that most people would not be offended by. These are the Karens people talk about. You don't laugh at some of the stuff they get off by?
i think this is funny and if someone were to get offended then they need to ask themselves "are either of the 2 in this picture pay your bills"
anything said here shouldn't be taken too seriously if it offends someone
Depends upon why. If someone goes on about how this group or that group is a waste of flesh and would be better of dead I can see someone getting perturbed. But for most things, yes, it is rather humorous.
I believe that online rules should be based on real life rules.
Laughing at the expense of those who dont like it, ain't no joke any more.
Its funny and cringe, I never understood how words from someone online could hurt you.
Depends on what was said.
To an extent yeah
Not really
