Have you noticed that people don't talk on TV and commercials, but they yell now?

I'm constantly hitting the mute button on my remote control. Especially when Mike Lindell yells his commercials about his sheets, slippers, pillows, etc. (He is Mr. Pillow.)
I've also noticed the speed which commercials fly by my eyes so fast, I'm not sure what the commercial was about.
Also they have jammed so many commercials together at such a high speed now that I'm not sure if I am on the same commercial or if they're onto another one. And the number of commercials that break in on TV shows is more than 10 commercials in a row during each break. I counted them one day.

Its all about selling whichever product is being promoted by any means necessary the yelling and speeding up format is to avoid legal liability as to read the whole disclaimer/fineprint

They do that because no one stays around for commercials. So when you're in the bathroom or kitchen, you can still hear them.

I remember when we used to complain about get 4 commercials in a row!! I haven't had t. v. in at least two years and I don't really miss it so, I don't know what the commercial to show ratio is these days but, I have the entire Columbo collection and, on t. v., each of those ran 2 hours!! Without commercials, most of the early ones barely run 80:00!! That means, for every 2 hour show, you were getting at least 40:00 of commercials!!
In the `60's, an hour long show ran about 52:00 once the commercials were removed, by the late `70's, an hour long show ran about 45:00 sans commercials! I have no idea how bad it is, today!!
In college, I did an English paper on how the t. v. shows were actually interrupting the commercials!! That was in the late `80's!!
2 years ago (for that matter, 7 years ago!) I was sick & tired of hearing Mike Lindell!!
When I still had t. v. 2 years ago, I remember that new shows went to commercial EVERY 5:00 MINUTES OR LESS!! I seem to recall there being a function where you could pause a live broadcast for a good while so, I'd start a show and, as soon as it went to commercial, pause it for about 20:00, go get something done then, go back to the show and zip through all the commercials in each of the next breaks and I'd STILL catch up to the live broadcast long before the show was over!!

I think you're right. Some of it is a misguided attempt to cut through the noise of all the other media around you whether or not it's actually audible. You have the phone in your hand, Alexa on the hall table, the screen on the fridge in the kitchen, and something on your tablet all while watching TV so the commercials are fighting for your attention.

The second point you make could be due to the spots (adverts) not going for as much these days, a lot of attention especially in the evening is to prepaid streaming services, so the likelihood is they selling lots of cheap spots to make up for the big spots they used to be able to sell

I usually record most shows so I can fast forward through the commercials. But yes, The My Pillow guy is too loud.

Mike Lindell sounds like he’s yelling while carrying heavy furniture, just a preposterous voice, and all in that thick Minnesota accent. Kind of a loon, but he amuses me😝
