I vacationed in Europe multiple times, and the last few time we went, we visited 8 countries on a cruise ship and in the docking area. I think the food and environment is clean and nice and I do not know how the people are because we only talk to professionals who are hired to take care of tourists like waiters or tour guides or ship crewmen or bus drivers.

hi, UK here, south coast, it varies a lot, basically it's really expensive and difficult to find a job, northern England and Scotland much cheaper to live, if you were thinking of coming here, might be worth considering Northern Ireland,,,

I was living there nearly 8 year, some of the places very good depends of the city, but some of the parts are very expensive, specially rents and bills, for that you need to find little cheap places to leave or you need to rent only room in shared house..

Grew up in Lincolnshire. Grandparents lived in Dorset and Yorkshire. Moved to Devon when I left home.

I left for 13 years when I got married. Came back from 2017 to 2020 and lived in Somerset.

It's like anywhere. You can bitch about the cost of living in London or find a place in a cheaper area. Basically it's going to give you back what you put in. There's good parts and bad parts.

Smaller towns are often more friendly than the cities. Especially in the South West and North East. For scenery the Lake District in England, Highlands in Scotland and the Gower Peninsula as well as the mountains in Wales are places to go.

You're never too far from the coast to go for a day trip, but if you're looking for quiet then try smaller places with fewer tourists. They're often cheaper too.

A good way to get a home is buy something that needs renovation, conversion or a deceased estate. Alternatively you could buy or long term lease a narrowboat on the waterways. There's 2000 miles of navigable rivers and canals mostly in England with a bit in Wales and the Scottish Lakes. Most of it's connected and it's a very chilled lifestyle.

Anywhere you live is a relationship. You'll only ever get out what you put in to it.

South East London is crap if you don't have money. Basically there are no towns, cities or villages in England anymore as they've all been swallowed up by London forming a Mega city.
