Just avoid California, Oregon, Washington state, Washington DC, Pennsylvania, or New York City.

I'm Canadian but I lived in Utah for 3 years after high school. I can confidently say that you'd love it there basing entirely off your description. Try researching SLT, Ogden, or Logan.

Both are home to many beautiful mountains, including the the blue ridge mountains and parkway

Idaho, Stanley is a nice community. Ketchum/Sun Valley is a good place to stay away from, lot of the beautiful people live there.
