No and not quite, respectively. Everything has its funnier side, true, but that doesn't mean its only purpose is for humor. And we SHOULD enjoy life, but we should also strive to live morally and make the world a better and more awesome place.

If you don't understand the distinction between "better" and "more awesome", you'd probably do well to read Chesterton's The Napoleon of Notting Hill (actually, you probably would anyway), which you can find on the Gutenberg Project (which hosts public domain books). It's not long, perhaps 150 pages or so, and it's one of Chesterton's books, so it covers many ideas in its length (it was his first novel, and, according to legend, the publishing agent read the first eleven words- "The human race, to which so many of my readers belong"- and immediately bought the rights, thinking that anyone who'd OPEN with a line like that HAD to be worth reading), but one of the core ideas is answering just this question.
