Have you ever found something that was left inside of a library, book or other borrowed item?

This library display was made entirely of things people have used as makeshift bookmarks in borrowed library books.
I have only ever found what appeared to be a child’s drawing that was used as someone’s bookmark. I wish I could have given it back to the owner.
I love this idea of discovering a glimpse into someone else’s life but never knowing who they could be.

A ww2 vet had passed away and i got a set of encyclopedias and he book marked with news paper clipping from the war , I also found a book signed by ohenry he signed to to the publisher, I always like to flip through old books in case i find like a mickey mantle rookie card or something

I wish thats what i hope for but i clean out houses that my boss buys so he can sell them and last year found 2 baseball cards nobody good i have found some cards at a goodwill had men griffey jr. Rookie and here is one weird one a 1996 all star game ball signed by john olrude he was not in 1996 all star game but signature looks real and it would seem pointless to fake it i got it for 2 buck

I have found ww1 and ww2 metals some othe cool things you could buy a house for about 15,000 bucks back in 1942

I found an old poem inside an antique book I bought. Nice surprise

Do you know if it was a published poem? Or just that someone had written it and left inside?

I think it was about 100 years old. The poem (think it was) was published in 1893

I found an actual check. I sent it back to the person via their address with a little note as to where I found it. They didn't write back, but I was secretly hoping they would.

Yes, except recently I found the little receipt the librarian gives you when you check out a book. It had their name on it too.
