How do I remove grout from shower door? How can I add a curtain to my shower door?

I think this brown stuff is grout, it’s so hard to remove I can’t even scrape it off with sissors. I don’t want spend $10 on a grout spray is there any other affordable way I can easily remove this? Also how can I put a shower curtain on this door? As there’s no pole? Or should I leave the door how it is without a curtain?

To add a curtain just take the sliding doors off, buy a shower curtain with the snap-style rings and apply the rings to the top rail in the shower that used to guide the doors.


Grout though? That’s the stuff that’s keeping the runoff water from rotting your floor or flooding the basement…why would you want the grout gone?

Probably a mix of roast and soap residue.

A shower cleaning liquid and some hard scrubbing should get rid of it.

That looks like the colour of the grout used, kiddo!

Get a beige/brown grout pen and go over it. If it stays smooth - then it's grout, if it's rough and patchy then it's dirt/dead skin/ or mould. As you've cut it, it might be damaged anyway though.

As for curtain, if it's a metal door then forget it. But if it's a wooden/PVC frame then you can get a bathroom curtain rail, and hammer it in.

I thought the brown stuff I had to remove lol. In my old apartment I had a regular bathtub and not a door as a shower. I thought the brown stuff was a mold mold build up or rust I had to remove lol

If you are referring to the black in your white line near the shower, that’s caulking. It’s a waterproof barrier that keeps the water from getting under your shower and rotten Ong the wood subfloor holding everything. Now I think that may be mildew which can be cleaned. Or you can go to Home Depot or lowes and get a caulking removal tool. Then put down new caulking with a caulking gun. Caulking comes in white or clear I think.

No they put new caulk recently. I’m talking about the brown stuff on the door? Is that supposed to be there? Lol I’ve never seen that before in a shower. In the last aparment I lived at I didn’t have a door as a shower. It was a regular tub

I think that may be calcium deposits mixed with rust I think. Get some cleaner that removes calcium deposits. Better yet take this pic to the plumbing department at Home Depot or Lowe’s home improvement.
