They need a lot of help and have been hurt a lot in life. My dad is trans and he has had severe mental health issues his whole life. I'm not sure what his childhood was like for the most part, however he has 2 brothers and they are both pedophiles & have severe mental health problems.

He became a trans woman about 3-4 years ago. Based what I've seen him experience through this process is that he hates who he is how he acts, how he looks, and how he is treated as a man by women. He has been an awful father & husband (in his defense, my mother was a horrible wife). He knows that and I believe that's why he became a woman. He felt accepted by a community of men & women within the trans and bdsm community. He had never felt accepted before in his life, especially by women. He became trans at the same time he got into bdsm. It all happened right after my mom cheated on him for the 4th time. He was in a very bad place and almost killed himself and the whole family after he found out about my mom's affair. I believe all those things played a factor in him becoming trans.

I've studied other cases of trans people, including detransitioners and found a similarity in mental health issues. The main ones were feeling unaccepted, feeling rejected, self hatred, disliking ones physical body type compared to others of their same gender, sexual abuse, fetishes, and/or sexual confusion.

That's tough. For sure it will take a lot more than being cheated on for him to experience dysmorphia and such things as self hatred. And usually this starts from young. Tyler Perey told a story as to why he was suicidal.

I think they should be protected from assault, like everyone should, and we should prioritize that protection above all other issues for or against the trans community. And until we as a society can agree on that, any attempt to discuss some of those other issues should be a considered an attempt to derail efforts to protect the Trans community from assault.

I don't hate them. They are people too. I have a few friends that are transgender. Just because they want to be a different sex doesn't make them bad people.
