Any advice for a long 2 weeks ahead?

my mom and grandma have surgery little less than 3 weeks apart, then you have school and work. and dad goes out of town week after my moms surgery.

Here are some things that I do that work for me in situations like that.

First, I make a cup of coffee -- the act of making it chills me out and the first few sips comfort me.

Then, make a list of everything. Just list. Don't solve anything. Don't do any of it. Just list.

Then, identify anything that you have zero control over. You can't change it. That goes into a "pile" of "this thing is important and I care about it but I cannot change the outcome". So, you know to care or monitor what the outcome is, but you're not focused on it (shouldn't be focused on it) because you can't change it. If it is that important, set yourself a reminder to check on it at some periodicity, then you can focus on other stuff in the meantime.

Then, look over any things that you say you have to do. First examine if you have to do it. Can any be put off? It's okay if not, but always good to examine. Then, for the stuff you have to do, put a deadline on it. Any of those deadlines further out? Then sort by date.

Finally, identify those things that if they "drop" it's okay. Like, if you have a history paper due that's worth half of your grade and an art assignment that is worth 1/2 of 1 percent of your grade, you prioritize the history paper knowing that if you don't finish

The point of doing all that is once you have identified the entire "dragon" of what's going on in the next two weeks, you'll find that the dragon isn't so big or so fiery or so menacing.

And finally finally during today and tomorrow and the whole two weeks be REALLY intentional about seeking out the little things that make you happy and doing those. A cheeseburger with friends. Hot shower. Smacking your siblings (just kidding, don't do that). Cutting paper snowflakes. Whatever. Build personal fun into your two weeks.

And, I'm really sorry about all the surgery and travel. That sucks, I know.

my mom has sinus surgery Tuesday, a week from that, my dad goes out of town and early feb, my grandma has her 5th back surgery /nerve damage surgery

Gosh, I hope everything goes well! I can understand why you must be so busy.

When I have tons of things to do I just try to focus on each thing at a time. It's really psychological... If I try to tackle everything at once it gets overwhelming.
