How to cope with guilt over a dead kitten?

I have fostered many kittens so far and some do die no matter how hard you try and that's the hardest part. Recently I rescued four kittens from the street, their mother was run over by a car, and they were like one month old. They were staying with me, one died after a few days, one got adopted, one died after two months and the last one died 2 days ago. Somehow she sneaked out of the house and went to the road and ran over by a car. I tried my best to keep them safe but still felt responsible. I have seen a lot of death and a lot of success too but every death breaks me so much. She got adopted too and the family was supposed to come to pick her up today.

I can cover my mind. It was strange that I tried to leave her in landlord's apartment.

Because I was going home. Then she die in litter as if sleeping in it in that day.

Everything about her is fine before it, She die suddenly that is strange.

You did the best you could in a bad situation. Sometimes the outcome isn't what we wanted or expected. I suggest you say a prayer, and maybe go volunteer at an animal shelter. The animals there will love you for it, and the kittens will be in heaven saying "thanks mommy" for helping other pets. 🙏🐾

Time heals, there's little else you can do. Think of it this way, had you not rescued them, none of them would have stood a chance in the first place. You are a good man with a good heart for rescuing them.

It's so hard when they die. This kitten was the last one and was with me for 3 months, chasing around me the whole day at every corner, begging for food all the time, climbing on me, so much memory. I have a distinct memory and it's very hard to impossible to forget. It's becoming very hard on me with so many dead ones over like 10 years, I am planning to stop.

Did you take them to the vet? Or consider and animal rescue?

yes to the vet, there's not much animal rescue around me. I try to do whatever I can on my own and with my own money. I am pretty knowledgeable about animal medicine and physiology myself, being a scientist and growing up with a family full of doctors.
