How do men feel about a couple scars on our bodies?

I'm getting back into the dating world in search of a serious relationship. There are a couple scars I've been conscious about.

- My stomach surgery scar: It's a 4-5 inch, vertical keloid scar. It stops just 2 cm above my belly button. That surgery had to be done (March 2019) to remove a grown GIST tumor, causing internal bleeding.

- Scar covering half of my right (upper part) bottom and a small pear shaped one below my left leg: I was 2 years old, was about to fall on boiling water but my mother tried her best to grabbed me on time. Her intervention changed my falling. I still got burned (2nd degree) but on a sitting position, instead of facedown.

Overally how do men feel about an obvious scar in our body?

I think it gives someone character. I have a starshaped one on my sternum from a dock spike that I fell on when I was a kid. Have another one from a guy pushing me into the goal face first and opened my eyebrow, paying soccer. One more just below my right butt cheek from a pellet gun.

Thank you for sharing this. Even though my mother at the time saved me from worse burns, changing the direction of my fall, lessening the severity (I would've landed facedown on boiling water and it would've covered parts of my upper body for sure) and it was milder, it was still a nightmare to her when I couldn't sit down for 2 weeks. She was only distracted for a minute or less and already that happened. She felt horrible that day. So many things one have to watch out when having children, esp toddlers. One tiny distraction, even for a second can change things fast.

What's a gist tumor?

To answer your question, most men do not care about scars or stretch marks.

It's the abbreviation for gastrointestinal stromal tumor. It's a disease in which abnormal cells form in the tissues of the gastrointestinal tract, inflammating the stomach wall.

It had grown to the point it needed surgery. Otherwise if it had been small (if I would've caught it on time) then only pills would've been used.

Thank you. Actually I was under general anesthesia and gas mask, no pain felt. The only pain was the following day but they give you pain relievers. Yes I'm ok now and stronger.

I think scars are part of life. I have scars why should i be picky about someone else having them? My first real girlfriend had to have open heart surgery as a child. She had a very big scar right between her breasts. She also had pretty severe scoliosis. But she was beautiful to me. And neither stopped me from loving her.

Unfortunately life threw some curves. We had a child. He passed away. We went our separate ways shortly after. Life is a fickle thing lol.

Omg sorry to hear about your loss. Yeah losing a child (regardless of how old they are) is the worst thing someone can endure. When I had my stomach surgery in 2019 and was taken to the OR, my mother was a total wreck and eyes swollen from crying. Then when told the operation was ok but I had lost a lot of blood and needed blood transfusion, my mother was still not at ease. I was nearly 32 at the time but the thought of losing me was the worst nightmare for my mother. My father is a relaxed guy but inside, it was likely hard for him too.

True. My mother has always felt that incident could've still been avoided. Even though she saved me from what could've been a worse burning, just the fact that I still got a bit burned... she felt horrible that day.
