How can I speak to a guy I like that I never met before?

There is a guy at my university. He’s the leader of a certain cultural group. I follow the group on Instagram and see him on their stories and have grown to fancy him abit. He’s cute. The group doesn’t meet up a lot and is male dominated, and plus I’m not from their culture so I wouldn’t really want to join.

how can I get speaking to him? It seems impossible unless I send him a message but that seems strange 😭
