If you disagree with someone, you should definitely talk to them.

If you only speak to folks you agree with, you end up living in a bubble; surrounding yourself with an echo chamber and you'll experience little if any personal growth. You may end up learning something new, or even changing your opinion. You may also share new information with the other person, and change their mind on something.

And if you never speak to anyone that disagrees, you're accepting by proxy that you're comfortable with familiar ignorance. There doesn't have to be a right or wrong. So many things are entirely subjective. But to abandon all discussion simply because you are as passionate about a subject as another person is so incredibly silly to me. But to quote your own reply, how do you know YOUR perspective is the correct one? Everyone around you is telling you that you're right. And you avoid conversations that are contrary. In this way, you've stunted your own curiosity and personal development. Further, life is full of different opinions. Speaking to people you disagree with online is a great way to learn how to handle conflict resolution in real life.
