Why did my therapist told me that my ex-friend is innocent and yet she never met this person? What is my therapist getting at?

Apparently either she is innocent or you have not been forthcoming with the full story. Sometimes, we see things skewed and an outside opinion see things the way they are.

They can only go off of what you’ve said. Maybe you’ve said a lot of stuff that pushes the blame onto your ex-friend but in reality you were the one causing the problems and not being self aware. Therapists are good at picking up on that.
