In most cases it’s a choice then hormones follow how much attention a person requires some people go back and forth and they are happy and some aren’t happy unless everyone around them affected by their choice.

While it is certainly possible for a gay man to decide that it was just a phase and he is really straight, the only cases I actually know of went the other direction.
