Canada got rid of the penny years ago, now if you pay cash for stuff they just round up or down to the nearest 5 or 0.

It doesn’t need to remain in circulation in the US either.

Aa long as items that you buy are priced in cents we need pennies. Itmf merchants round c up to the nearest tenth of a dollar we can do away with pennies and nixkles too.
