I'm going to prom later today. What should I do there?

Some context. I tend to keep to myself and I've never been to a school dance or prom before so I'm not sure what exactly I should do. Should I just ask girls I find pretty and nice if they want to dance? Should I just chill and wait for someone to show interest (assuming anyone does at all xD). Anyway I'd just love advice. I'd say approach the one you enjoy spending time with/are good friends with because if you just ask someone for her looks and turns out you guys don't have a chemistry, it can get awkward. It's always better to ask out and get an instant answer than wait. Good luck!
