Is the SKY BLUE?

Technically the sky is colourless or transparent, like water or glass.

But to us humans on earth it appears blue because blue light gets reflected back at us and we see it as blue.

The colour also changes at morning and evening to orange/red or is completely transparent at night, so we can see the dark emptyness of space.

Depends on how the question is interpreted. The sky appears to be blue because of the refraction of light in atmosperic moisture.

There isn't a "sky" because the void up there is all space. I believe the reason it does look blue, is because of a scientific reason.. and may have to do with the refection of water on the earth. Maybe the atmosphere's particles have something to do with the light refraction of the water in the "sky".

Small objects (like molecules in the air) scatter more short wavelength than long wavelengths, so the scattered light looks blue, and the sun seen through a lot of atmosphere (setting sun) looks red

no, it is too pale. blue is like indigo. sky is light blue so i think its different.

It really is not. It looks blue because all the other way elwnghts of light are filtered out by the atmosphere

It's blue to the human eye and for most purposes that's what matters.

No, it appears blue because of the Rayleigh Scatter effect. The heat from the suns rays pass through the atmosphere and heat up the floating particulates to the blue energy wavelength, which in turn makes the sky look blue.

That's why at night we can see the stars beyond the atmosphere, because the sun's energy is on the other side of the earth making blue skies.
